Fujitsu tablet with integrated PalmSecure sensor

Spread the love

Fujitsu’s ruggedized tablet comes with serious security – palm vein biometrics powered by an integrated PalmSecure sensor.

More and more tablets and mobile devices are ramping up security with biometrics – almost all major smartphones are now equipped with some kind of biometric sensor or scanner. Apple just shocked many by introducing face biometrics in place of their fingerprint scanner, the technology apple paid over $350 million for several years ago.

When taken with an infrared camera, face recognition becomes a rock solid biometric modality. Tech giants switching from fingerprint to face now validates why M2SYS always believed in underlying hybrid biometric technology – each biometric modality works differently in different environments; there is no “one fits all” approach in biometrics. That’s why we invented a solution and platform that lets our partners plug in different forms of biometrics as their business and product matures, without the need to rewrite any code. Can you believe that someone thought of this approach many many years ago? That’s M2SYS.

You bet – biometrics is becoming more and more the center of conversation!

The Fujitsu V535 tablet with PalmSecure biometric sensor comes in three flavors – Enrollment Station, Check-In Station, and Mobile Station.

It’s a solid unit with front and rear cameras, 64GB solid state hard drive, and Windows 10. We definitely see the value of this product in the retail market for time and attendance. Our RightPunch product is seamlessly integrated with Kronos workforce management software, and used by many top retailers such as Forever 21. The V535 tablet with RightPunch will be a great alternative to an expensive wall-mounted time clock.

If implemented properly, and developers pay attention to its capabilities, palm vein is a very reliable biometric modality. M2SYS believed in this product for a long time, and we are the only company that has implemented the largest one-to-many government-level palm vein based solutions – we’re talking millions of palm vein templates; our biometric software is AWESOME!!!!
Several years ago, we implemented a Time-Clock system for a major grocery chain with over 180 locations in Southern California. The client had to purchase standalone PC kiosks from a third-party vendor, plus the integrated PalmSecure sensor and M2SYS biometric software to achieve their desired goal. If V535 tablet existed at the time, the client wouldn’t have to buy the kiosk from one vendor, and the biometric scanner from another – all the hassles related to the hardware integration and sensor mounting would have been gone; this was one of the biggest challenges. This project has saved the client millions of dollars, because with M2SYS’ RightPunch biometric time and attendance software, all punches are logged accurately, so the client is able to comply with local labor codes and prevent buddy punching in their organization.
