SystemSpecs’ current system was prone to staff record duplication. The system was being manipulated by users who entered fictitious or non-existing staff records (“Ghost Workers”) into the payroll system with a view to defrauding the organization. This phenomenon is very common among government and private establishments with very large workforces. (Studies show that up to 7% of payroll expenses can be attributed to this phenomenon). SystemSpecs was searching for a fingerprint biometric component that could be rapidly integrated into their existing management solution with the goal of addressing these concerns.
