Biometric Secure Single Sign-On Software
Enterprise Password Management and Network Security Software with Seamless Interface to Active Directory
Prevent accidental or corrupt data leakage and reduce costs by providing indisputable client side authentication, file encryption, and password automation
with strong authentication. |
|
With an ever-increasing number of enterprise data security breaches, the pressure on corporate America to implement methods of
password management, identity management, data and network security,
and two factor authentication has never been stronger. Many states have even passed laws requiring companies without the proper control mechanisms to inform the public of any data loss. Federal legislation, such as the
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and the
Sarbanes-Oxley Act impact a wide range of businesses, both public and private, by imposing stiff penalties for failing to protect consumer information and for properly reporting consequential events that have a direct effect on financial results.
The sharing or theft of user passwords still remains the most popular reason that corporate data is compromised. The M2SYS Enterprise Biometrics Suite™ solves this problem by allowing businesses to implement a centralized
biometric password management repository for single sign-on and secure access to applications and web sites. With convenient integration into Active Directory,
password management with fingerprint authentication leaves the IT department in complete control.
With a single solution that supports strong authentication
techniques, companies can protect corporate and personal data while ensuring industry mandated compliance with regulations such as
HIPAA and Sarbanes-Oxley.

The EBS family of products provides a secure authentication framework to Windows-based personal computers. This authentication framework utilizes biometrics, smart cards, TPM security chips, tokens, and other devices to protect system login, password management (single sign-on), file and folder encryption, e-mail, VPN access, and other sensitive operations on the typical PC.

EBS Client Edition: A Windows-based application
for password management and data security.
Secure Windows Logon
Graphical Identification and Authentication or GINA is the screen that appears when you first login to Windows or you select CTRL+ALT+DEL on your keyboard. EBS extends the Windows GINA by adding security and convenience to authenticate users before granting access to the Windows desktop. EBS enables strong authentication by allowing users to authenticate with a single or multiple authentication factors. For enterprise users EBS login policies are configurable per user or on a per machine basis.
For users of Windows XP Home Edition, EBS supports Fast User Switching (FUS). FUS allows users of a shared machine to switch between logins without logging out of the machine. With EBS, users can be switched by simply touching an M2SYS fingerprint reader!
Enterprise Class Password Management
EBS is a powerful tool that enables you to reduce costs and conveniently manage your passwords and identities. EBS creates and maintains an encrypted “vault” for your passwords. The first time a password-secured web site or application is used, the user simply enters the original password and then tells EBS to “remember that password.” From that point forward, anytime that web site or application is accessed again, EBS will prompt the user to authenticate using the specified security devices and authentication rules.
File and Folder Encryption
Traditional file encryption and decryption utilities encrypt/decrypt files on-demand one file or folder at a time. EBS is closely tied with Windows Explorer to provide a better user experience. Users browse to a specific file or folder and right click to encrypt or decrypt the selected file(s). Encrypted files are available as regular Windows folders instead of special files.
Secure E-mail/VPN/Certificates
EBS can secure digital certificates installed in a computer and require authentication before an application can access the certificate. Using this feature an enterprise can secure e-mail, VPN access, and other operations which use traditional PKI technology. By adding multi-factor authentication to these daily operations, a much more secure environment for data and network access is created.

EBS Enterprise Edition: A cost-effective, server-based back-end that offers enterprise-wide identity and password management as well as data protection that is easily deployed and easily managed by your IT department.
Scalable Authentication Framework
EBS is designed to work in conjunction with a wide variety of authentication devices, such as the M2SYS suite of fingerprint readers. EBS also supports smart cards from major suppliers such as Gemalto and G&D and the latest security chip technology being added to most laptops – the Trusted Platform Modules (TPM). EBS also supports authentication tokens, proximity badges, and other proprietary security devices from multiple vendors.
Centralized or Remote User Enrollment
User authentication information is stored along with the other information in Active Directory, so that a user can be enrolled using any device from any machine. When the user tries to log into another PC in the domain, the authentication data is retrieved from Active Directory to perform the match; the user never needs to enroll separately on the second machine.
Wide Platform Support
EBS provides organizations a well-integrated strong authentication and identity management system that ties easily into their existing infrastructure with features like:
