That\u2019s big news. Why? Banks and other financial service entities increasingly recognize the importance of biometric technology in securing customer identities to prevent security breaches. In fact, the financial services industry is also thinking of alternative ways to use this technology to combat money laundering, Internet transaction fraud, and identity theft related crimes. Among the many different applications of biometrics in healthcare, by far the fastest growing use is to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightpatient.com\"><strong>accurately identify patients<\/strong><\/a> to eliminate the possibility of duplicate medical records and reducing medical identity theft. Two recent deployments of biometrics for patent identification in the U.S. are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightpatient.com\/bethesda-health-launches-right-patient-biometric-patient-identification-system\/\"><strong>Bethesda Health, Inc<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rightpatient.com\/terrebonne-general-medical-center-implements-rightpatient-biometric-patient-identification-safety-and-data-integrity-system-with-mckesson-ehr\/\"><strong>Terrebonne General Medical Center<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Law Enforcement<\/h2>\n<p>The increased threat of global terrorism and criminal activities has put biometric technology into the limelight in 2015. This year, a study by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/global-law-enforcement-biometrics-market-study-2015-2019---fingerprint-identification-facial-recognition-iris-recognition-and-dna-analysis-300174723.html\"><strong>Research and Markets<\/strong><\/a> predicted the global law enforcement biometrics market to grow at a CAGR of 13.35% between 2014 \u2013 2019.
