According to Khaleej Times, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) launched a biometric service at Abu Dhabi Airport in last December, allowing travelers to use their faces as boarding permits instead of passports or tickets. Currently, the ideas will be examined in pilot programs at a few airport locations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Khaleej Times reports that an Abu Dhabi technology company, will launch its cutting-edge AI solutions alongside global few partners at a few self-service luggage checkpoints, immigration e-gates, and boarding gates before rolling out the technology to the whole airport.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Enhanced travel experience<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thanks to modern technology, the Midfield Terminal Building will be the first international airport to offer biometric capabilities at all touchpoints. According to Ibrahim Al Mannaee, the biometrics initiative is a critical component of the Emirate&#8217;s digital transformation plan. &#8220;Abu Dhabi Airport&#8217;s goal of operating the most technologically advanced airport in the world will be one step closer to reality once this project is finished, making it the first airport in the region to deploy biometric solutions at every point of contact with passengers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When completed, the program will provide travelers with a &#8220;curb-to-gate&#8221; journey that is smooth, orderly, contactless, and sanitary. Khaleej Times claims that customers would experience shorter queues and shorter wait times as a result. Eng Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, MD and CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports, said: &#8220;The phase one deployment of advanced biometrics at Abu Dhabi International Airport further demonstrates our commitment to reshaping airport experiences in the future by delivering technology that fosters efficiency, convenience, and service excellence. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Abu Dhabi will have the first airport in the world that uses biometric technology at every step of the passenger journey once construction is finished, ensuring a trouble-free, secure trip for everyone.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Khaleej Times, high-tech biometric cameras will be installed at the airport&#8217;s self-service luggage drop, passport control, business class lounge, and boarding gates to check passenger data. &#8220;Technology that facilitates hassle-free, stress-free travel at every level will be the backbone of the airport of the future,&#8221; says , Hani El Assaad.
