Pilgrims from Bangladesh and four other countries must provide their biometric data, including \u201cfingerprints,\u201d to the authorities of Saudi to get Umrah e-Visas. The other countries are the UK, Tunisia, Kuwait and Malaysia. Saudia media reported referring to an announcement by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pilgrims will have to use the Saudi Visa app that allows visa registration via fingerprint and selfie biometrics. The new app delivers on a commitment made by the Saudi government late last year to allow biometric enrolment<\/a> through mobile devices so pilgrims can avoid visiting visa centres in person, making the country one of the first in the world to accept biometrics by mobile for visa issuance, report gulf news.<\/span><\/p>\n

Getting Visa Will Be Easier<\/b><\/h2>\n

Procedures for using Umrah visas electronically will be completed based on biometric details before a pilgrim arrives in the holy city of Makkah and Madina. Applicant scans their passport to confirm their identity, then submit a complete facial picture from the front camera and scan their fingerprints. This aims to ease the entry procedure through the kingdom\u2019s port and improve the digital experience for pilgrims in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, said officials.<\/span><\/p>\n
