June 9, 2005 – M2SYS Technology, an innovator in biometric technology research and development,
announced it has finalized a long-term partnership agreement with The Medibase Group, Inc., a
leading software solutions provider for the healthcare industry, to integrate and distribute
the M2SYS patent-pending fingerprint recognition solution called Bio-Plugin™ under the
Medibase product name BASEmetric™. The solution is now available to Medibase's growing
customer base of more than 500 hospitals, health systems, and integrated delivery networks
throughout the United States to improve access to vital information, optimize revenue
generation, and provide better care.
The BASEmetric™ integrated patient fingerprint identification system was introduced at the
recent National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) conference in Orlando, FL
where representatives from M2SYS and Medibase lead a joint presentation to more than 100
representatives from the healthcare industry on the importance of using fingerprint technology
to accurately identify patients.
The presentation highlighted the benefits of fingerprint recognition over other forms of
biometrics including the drastic improvement in protecting patient confidentiality. The
BASEmetric™ fingerprint system was shown to be highly scalable, fast, and accurate, enabling
even larger hospitals and healthcare networks to adopt it without enduring performance
shortfalls.
Bio-Plugin™ enables software companies to immediately integrate a complete, seamless
fingerprint recognition system, including a high-performance 1:N identification engine.
Bio-Plugin™ eliminates the system dependencies, extensive development, and specialized
knowledge of biometric complexities inherent to fingerprint technology SDKs. This enables
software companies to remain focused on their core product, while establishing a new revenue
channel with the biometric component integrated into their systems.
