CTS
America
’s SmartJAIL Software
Tracking and managing all aspects of an inmate’s jail
stay is a crucial component in maintaining the safety and welfare of the
community. Jail management
software can aid in this process, but it is critical that the software
provides completely secured records, tracking, and reporting.
CTS
America is an industry leader in providing commercial, state-of-the-art software
solutions for the public safety market.
Their SmartJAIL
solution is integrated with M2SYS’ cutting-edge biometric software, Bio-Plugin™,
providing the utmost security and reliability in jail management software.
Bio-Plugin™ enabled CTS
America
to immediately integrate a complete, enterprise-ready, fingerprint
recognition system. Bio-Plugin™ eliminates the extensive development and
specialized knowledge of biometric technology inherent to fingerprint
SDK's.
This rapid integration process enabled CTS to remain
focused on their core product, jail management software.
The SmartJAIL system manages all dimensions of an inmate’s stay and
with the addition of fingerprint technology, can more easily deploy several
of the system’s innovative features.
When initially booked, an inmate is enrolled in the
system through the use of a fingerprint
reader. In the case of a
first-time inmate, once enrollment has occurred through the reader,
information can be entered regarding the inmate’s medical information,
property items, and cell assignment. If
the inmate has been previosly incarcerated, the system recognizes this and
notifies the booker. This helps
to eliminate the act of inmate’s giving false identification information
or refusing to give any information at all.
The complete history of the previously incarcerated inmate can be
retrieved through a simple scan of the fingerprint, including historical
medical records and recorded jail incidents involving the use of force or
disciplinary action. This aids
in improving jail security, as a more watchful eye can then be placed on
inmates that are historically delinquent.
The SmartJAIL system also tracks inmate movements and activities.
Fingerprint readers can be placed in certain areas, and inmates can
enter and leave these areas by quickly scanning their fingerprint.
This activity is then logged in the system, providing the client with
an inmate’s location at all times and increasing the overall
accountability of the inmates.
Fingerprint verification is also utilized at time of release.
The Bio-Plugin™ software performs a 1:1 verification of the
fingerprint of the inmate to be released.
Inmates will often pay to switch ID bracelets in order to be released
earlier. With fingerprint
recognition technology, this practice is rendered obsolete.
If the fingerprint scanned does not match the fingerprint in the
system, release will not be granted.
Integration of M2SYS’ biometric software solution
into the SmartJAIL system has occurred seamlessly.
The fingerprint software has increased safety and security in jails,
while allowing CTS to continue to provide innovative technology and to meet
burgeoning customer demands.
